The Birmingham Moseley Women’s XV is a team built on spirit, resilience, and a legacy that spans over 25 years. Since our return in 1999, the team has been a force on the pitch, consistently climbing the leagues and becoming a central part of the Moseley Rugby family. Our journey is one of passion and progress, marked by multiple promotions and a fierce commitment to the game.
The Current Incarnation of the women’s team dates back to May 1999. This was after nearly ten years with no women’s team at Moseley.
When the women came back to Moseley is was in force with almost 40 women raging from 17-40 years old wanting to play for Moseley, they trained on a Wednesday evening at Queensbridge School getting themselves ready for competitive match the following season.
The team had their first competitive match in a Stourport Ten’s tournament in the October of 1999.
Their first competitive game was against Old Yardleians in November 1999. The final result was 29-10 to Old Yards (this team is no longer going).
Between 2000 and 2004 saw the women enter the league system – Midlands West Division Four, at the end of the 2003-2004 Season they came second and were promoted into Midlands West Division Three.
We are more than a team; we are a community ready to push for success. Whether you’re a fan wanting to follow the action or a player ready to join the fight for promotion, we want you to be a part of our story.
We’re actively seeking new players of all abilities to help us build on our history and achieve our goals.
