For our youngest players, Micros rugby is all about fun and fundamental movement skills. Through engaging games and activities, children develop coordination, balance, and agility in a non-contact environment. It’s the perfect introduction to the world of rugby and team sports.
As children progress, Mini rugby introduces them to the basics of the game, gradually building skills like passing, tackling (tag or touch rugby initially, moving to contact progressively), and teamwork. The emphasis remains on enjoyment and participation, with friendly matches against other local clubs helping to build confidence and game understanding.
In the Junior section, players continue to refine their skills and understanding of the game, with a greater emphasis on technical and tactical development. They participate in friendly fixtures and competitive matches, building camaraderie and learning strategic play. This is where they start to truly understand the nuances of the game and develop their individual roles within a team.
Our Colts program provides a bridge between junior and senior rugby. Players receive advanced coaching to prepare them for the demands of adult rugby, with opportunities to compete in national and county competitions. Many of our Colts players go on to represent our senior teams, demonstrating the strength of our development pathway.
